 Spring Journey Sessions:

Sunday, March 25 1:15– 3:45

Sunday, March 25 5:00 – 7:30

Tuesday, March 27 6:00 – 8:30

Sunday, April 1 5:00 -7:30 

JOURNEY gathers the entire parish family together.  It is one of the key components of faith formation at St. Michael the Archangel.  It is a time for individual households to gather with their parish family to pray and learn together. 

Parish family = Every Household (married, unmarried, with or without children, single, old or young, school or religious education – all generations)

Each JOURNEY session includes a meal, prayer, and teaching on a chosen theme with break-out sessions for specific age groups.

The cost for JOURNEY is $5 a person or $20 a family. 

A Typical JOURNEY Session

Meal

            Every JOURNEY includes a sit down meal.  This meal is a special time for community building within our parish family.

Opening and Closing Prayers

            These prayers are spiritual bookends for the JOURNEY session.  The opening prayer service is designed to introduce the theme of the night to heighten our awareness of what we will be learning and discussing.  The closing prayer serves to tie the whole evening together.  After having learned more about our faith, we go forth with God’s blessing to live it.

Break-out Sessions

            Every JOURNEY session is unique but we always break into smaller groups for in-depth learning.  Each session provides an opportunity for at least 2 break-out groups.  Sometimes we break into age specific groups, sometimes we stay in family groups, and others we do a mixture.  We always end up together to discuss with the parish family what we learned.  We have sessions for pre-school age 4-5 and we always offer childcare. 

Take Home Packet

            An important part of JOURNEY is the take home packet you receive at the end.  This packet contains materials of all ages that support the JOURNEY topic.  These resources are provided in hopes that the information will encourage and assist you in continuing the conversation at home, offer helpful suggestions for family or individual activities, and aid in deepening your knowledge of the catholic faith.
