St. Michael the Archangel’s Christmas In October (CIO) Ministry is focused on rehabilitating the houses of low-income homeowners in the Kansas City area at no cost to the homeowners. With your help, homes are made weather tight, exteriors are cleaned up, and through our year-round efforts, and wheelchair accessible ramps are built almost weekly.

Volunteer Online Form 2012

 This program offers a unique opportunity for organizations and individuals to join together with friends and family members to make a meaningful contribution to the needy in our community, and at the same time, develop new relationships with each other and with the residents of neighborhoods they might not otherwise have reason to visit.

Serving Opportunities:

• Volunteer to work on Saturday, October 6, 2012 – Our goal is to sponsor 20 homes in 2012, so we will need over 250 volunteers!

Clearly, we've got big plans to help the Kansas City metro area “age in place”, respecting homeowner wishes and lending stability to classic neighborhoods. Only through an enormous effort can we help 20 elderly families weather the storms ahead and also support the dozens of ramps our teams will build, whittling the list of over 100 wheelchair requests that have been on the Christmas in October books for years
