A Stewardship Prayer

Generous and loving God, You call us to be disciples of your Son Jesus and good stewards of all your many gifts.  Open our minds and hearts to a greater awareness and deeper appreciation of your countless blessings.  Transform us through the power of Your Spirit to nurture a stewardship way of life marked by faith-filled prayer, service to our neighbor and generous sharing.  Teach us to be faithful servants of your gifts.  We pray through Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Prayer for Vocations

Heavenly Father, with a deep trust in the love that flows from the heart of your Son, and by the gifts of your Holy Spirit, give to the seminarians, novices and all young people of the Archdiocese the courage to respond generously when you call them to the priesthood and religious life.

Give them strong examples of holy priests and religious. Through the intercession of the saints and by our prayers, help them pattern their lives after Mary, who was not afraid to let it be done to her according to your Word (Lk 1:38). We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

 Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.  May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do you, O prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

Litany of Generosity

Dear Lord,

We come before you today to ask you to help us to be more generous.

All: Gracious God, give us generous hearts

Leader:  so we may fully appreciate all your many gifts to us.

Leader:  so we may share without expecting something in return.

Leader:  so we may know the joy that comes from helping others.

Leader:  so that we may share all that you have given us.

Leader:  so we may hold all our treasures in an open hand.

Leader:  so that we may recognize the many blessings of each new day.
