“Tithe" is the biblical standard for giving, which is rooted in Hebrew Scriptures, reinforced by New Testament teachings on generosity, and exemplified in the lives of the early Christians. The word "tithe" comes from the word meaning "tenth" and is used to indicate the portion of one's gross earnings (first fruits) that is set apart for God.
Parishioners are asked to complete and return an operations pledge card each calendar year as a part of the stewardship renewal process. Each family is asked to divide the biblical 10% in the following manner:
5% of annual gross household income to the Parish Operations Fund
4% of annual gross household income to other worthy charities or the St. Michael Building Fund
1% of annual gross household income to the Archbishop’s Call to Share
